Carlton Ware Green Rock Garden Vase

A beautiful vase by Carlton Ware in the Rock Garden pattern (also known as Garden Wall) in the green colourway which was introduced in 1934/35.  It has the under-glaze backstamp that was used by Carlton Ware before they introduced their "Registered Australian Design" which was introduced in 1935.  It has the numbers 1254 impressed on the base.

It is in excellent condition, having no repairs, chips, cracks or stains, but has minor crazing, which is typical for a piece of this age.  There is also a very small black spot in the glaze (as can be seen in the photos) that would have been done at the time of manufacture, but this does not detract from this vase at all.  This vase displays exceptionally well.
