Royal Winton Lakeland Cheesekeep

A beautiful cheesekeep by Royal Winton in the Lakeland pattern which was first introduced in the 1940's.  The backstamp for this particular piece dates it before 1945.

It is in excellent condition, having no repairs, chips or cracks, but has minor crazing (to the lid only, the underplate has no crazing) which is typical for a piece of this age.  There are several small stain spots on the underside of the lid (as can be seen in the photo) but these cannot be seen when the lid is in place.  This cheesekeep displays exceptionally well.

Dimensions - lid - 15¼ cms long, 12¼ cms wide, 9¼ cms high - underplate - 18¾ cms long, 16¼ cms wide (measurements are approximate)
