H & K Tunstall Autumn Sugar Bowl

A beautiful vintage hand-painted sugar bowl by H & K Tunstall (Hollinshead & Kirkham) in the Autumn pattern.  This pattern is one of the "Delicious Dozen" patterns made, which was once known as the "poor man's Moorcroft".  The backstamp on this particular piece was used between 1932 and 1942.

It is in excellent condition, having no repairs, chips, cracks or stains.  It has no crazing, which is unusual for pieces of this age.  The only point to mention is a small bit of clay on the bottom rim, which would have attached in the kiln at the time of manufacture.  The colours are bright and clear and this vase displays brilliantly.  (Please excuse the white marks - these are only light reflections)
