Carlton Ware Grey Rock Garden Elliptical Tray

A beautiful elliptical tray by Carlton Ware in the Rock Garden pattern (also known as Garden Wall) in the grey colourway which was introduced in 1934/35.  It has the under-glaze backstamp that was used by Carlton Ware before they introduced their "Registered Australian Design" which was introduced in 1935.  It has the numbers 1237/1 impressed on the base.

It is in excellent condition, having no repairs, chips, cracks or stains, and has no crazing, which is unusual for a piece of this age.  This tray/plate displays exceptionally well.
