A beautiful rare vintage double handled jug by Carlton Ware in the Apple Blossom pattern in the yellow colourway which was first introduced in 1937. It has the number 1700/3 impressed on the base. This is the smallest of the three sizes of double handled jug made in this pattern. It is in excellent condition, having no repairs, chips, cracks or stains, and has very minor crazing which is unusual for a piece of this age. The only point to mention is a small slither (see photo) off the base rim on the jug, which can be felt but barely seen when the jug is displayed. This jug is in near pristine condition, the colours are bright and vivid and displays brilliantly. Dimensions - 13 cms handle to spout, 13cms widest dia., 29 cms high (measurements are approximate) |
