Beswick Chaffinch (991A - 1st Version)

A beautiful vintage Beswick Chaffinch model number 991A, which is the first version on a green mound base.  It was designed by Arthur Gredington, introduced in 1943 and discontinued in 1973.  This Chaffinch was finished with a gloss glaze.

This Chaffinch is in excellent condition, having no chips, cracks, repairs or restorations.  It has very minor crazing.  It carries the standard Beswick England oval backstamp used during this period.  The colours are bright and vivid and this Chaffinch displays brilliantly.
